Boys and Girls
Club of Houston: This agency is
part of a national affiliation of education and recreational agencies that serve
children and teenagers with after school tutoring, physical education, arts and
social skills development. Since
its opening the Boys & Girls Club has exceed their targeted goal of new
member enrollment. It is projected to become the largest, in terms of
enrollment, Boys and Girls Club in Texas. The
Compaq Corporation has established a computer laboratory with fifteen Pentium
III and printers worth over $39,000 that will provide a technology based and
Internet connected after-school tutorial and homework center. This Boys and Girls Club also has partnered with:

summer months and over 150 lunches and snacks are provided daily

Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston, for camps with the children to boost
self esteem and lower the incidence of use of alcohol and drugs

church, for their Star Outreach program for young girls (age 10 to 14)

many opportunities for its members to explore ways of acquiring new
